Pilot Season: NBC Picks Up Ryan Murphy Comedy

Ryan Murphy NBC has ordered a pilot for The New Normal, a comedy from Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy, according to The Hollywood Reporter.Along with fellow Glee producers Ali Adler and producer Dante DiLoreto, Murphy will co-write and direct the single-camera project about a gay couple trying to start a family with the help of a surrogate.Photos: The best and worst Glee performances (so far!)As previously reported, Book of Mormon actor Andrew Rannells will star as one of the three lead roles.The project will be Murphy's first half-hour show and fifth overall series. His credits also include American Horror Story, Popular and Nip/Tuck.
